Report: Fulham in negotiations with Borussia Dortmund over transfer of Lucas Barrios

Out-of-favor Borussia Dortmund striker Lucas Barrios could be on his way to Fulham before the January transfer window closes, Ruhr Nachrichten reports.

The Premier League club has allegedly offered between 7 or 8 million euros for the 27-year-old. Although Dortmund has officially denied its intent to sell the Paraguay international, a previous report asserted that a bid of 12 million euros would be enough to convince BVB to part ways with the forward.

However, Ruhr Nachrichten reports that Dortmund
has decreased its demands to 10 million euros as it hopes to avoid disharmony within its ranks in the club's bid to defend its Bundesliga title.

Barrios was a regular starter for Jurgen Klopp's side for two seasons heading into the current campaign, but after a hamstring injury kept him out of action in August and most of September, he lost his starting role to Robert Lewandowski. In 11 Bundesliga appearances this season, Barrios has failed to score once.

Fulham is not the only side to have been linked with Barrios. Earlier in January, Malaga reportedly made a 10 million euro bid, while Marseille also was said to be keen to complete the player's transfer.

Should Fulham and Dortmund not reach an accord on a transfer of Barrios, the Craven Cottage side could also make a move for Bayer Leverkusen's Eren Derdiyok.

Andy Carroll insists he has no desire to leave Liverpool despite persistent speculation surrounding his future at the club.

Several national newspapers reported on Sunday that the Anfield side had approached Manchester City over a possible swap deal involving Carroll and troubled Argentine Carlos Tevez, only for the Premier League leader to reject the idea.

A return to Newcastle has also been mooted, but Carroll insists he is loving life at under Kenny Dalglish despite failing to shine since his 35 million pound move on deadline day last year.

"I'm just here,” he told reporters. “I've signed a contract here and this is the team I'm playing for. I love it here. All the lads are great with me in training and away from the training ground everyone has been great with me as well."

Asked if he had any regrets about moving to Anfield, Carroll replied: "Not at all. The club has been great with me and I'm enjoying it here.

“Winning in midweek [against Manchester City in the League Cup] and getting to the final and then Man U coming here, beating them and getting through, it's a great feeling."
